I can't speak for its durability, but I got a real-world test a few weeks ago during a downpour in Vancouver, BC. I was wearing my normal cycling shoes from Southern California, which are mesh. We were hit with crazy hard rain and the shoes quickly filled with water, but the socks kept my feet warm and dry--miraculously, my feet didn't sweat despite the water proofing. I'm sold. Great way to keep your feet dry in wet weather if you don't want to buy waterproof shoes.
I haven't had a chance to use the socks in a rain situation yet. However, I did test them by submerging 3/4 of each sock in water for an extended time, and my hand stayed dried. The socks are thicker (due to the inner lining) than regular socks, but fit as expected. I didn't have any problem putting on and lacing up my running shoes with them on. Hopefully, they will last a good while with proper care.
These socks are certainly pricey, but your feet can breathe and they live true to their waterproof claims. Excellent for hiking or other sports that subject your feet to unintended water submersion.
